Healthcare Services

NCS have been involved in the Healthcare sector for many years, initially working closely with Primary Care Trusts to provide principally Cleaning services to Health Centres and Clinics across Norfolk.

NCS now has increasing involvement in the Healthcare sector, in particular within the NHS, delivering a wide range of services to larger and more complex sites - from Clinics to Community Hospitals to a state of the art Radiology Laboratory and Academy.

Training

NCS is one of the few companies who have a training programme dedicated to the NHS which reflects the requirements of the ‘National Specifications for Cleanliness’ and the ‘Standards of Cleanliness in the NHS.’

Staff are all trained in infection control techniques and NCS works closely with the Infection Control nurses at the major NHS Trusts in the area.

Services Package

In 2004 NCS introduced Practice Support (PS), a package of services that could be cherry-picked by Practice Managers to suit the individual needs of their practices. PS can include Grounds and Building maintenance, Cleaning and some white-collar activities such as Payroll, HR and advice on statutory legislation, legal obligations etc.

NCS plays an active role in assisting its Trust partners to achieve high ratings in the PEAT annual assessments. Self and joint performance Monitoring is carried out using leading edge industry software, specifically designed for the NHS environment.

As a member of the NHS Performance Advisory Group (NPAG) NCS contributes to the ongoing benchmarking and information gathering that this organisation undertakes.

Based on the principle that its main focus is always on delivering a continuous and consistent service for the benefit of the Patients and Staff, NCS continues to win new contracts, both large and small; to many, we represent the public sector ethos that Trust Managers value for the delivery of their key services.

Examples

Since 1994 NCS has provided both Catering and Cleaning at Swaffham Community Hospital on behalf of Anglia Support Partnership, an organisation hosted by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Partnership NHS Trust.

In 2004 NCS was awarded the FM contract at Cromer Hospital by Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Trust. This contract includes the delivery of Estates maintenance in addition to the usual hotel services.

Soon after taking on Cromer Hospital, the PEAT score for the site was upgraded from Poor to Good, and has had its on-site Quality Management System approved to the ISO 9001:2000 standards.
