Norfolk County Services Ltd recognises the importance of achieving the highest practical standards of health and safety in our work activities and shall fulfil the statutory obligations placed upon it by the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and associated legislation.
Through effective and practical management of health and safety risks, we shall do all that is reasonably practicable to prevent injury or ill-health to employees, members of the public, and visitors on our premises.
Our core objectives are:
- To identify hazards to employees and third parties affected by the work, and to control the subsequent risks accordingly;
- To maintain healthy and safe working conditions, including provision of safe plant and equipment;
- To work, through continuous improvement, to prevent accidents and ill-health;
- To ensure that employees are competent to carry out the work required of them;
- To ensure the safe transport, storage, handling and use of hazardous substances and articles;
- To consult with employees on health and safety issues affecting their wellbeing, and provide them with necessary information, instruction and supervision;
- To review and revise this safety policy at regular intervals as necessary.
Our health and safety policy shall be monitored at frequent intervals in order to review its effectiveness, and to ensure that it reflects changes in the business needs and circumstances.
All persons employed by Norfolk County Services Ltd have duties under health and safety law, and as an organisation, we require the co-operation and commitment of everyone for this policy to be effective.
