Contract Example: Education

Grimston Pott Row First School is a listed building, so when the need for provision of disabled facilities arose NCS sourced special hand made bricks to match existing structure in order to comply with planning approval.

When the Alderman Peel High School swimming pool changing rooms needed refurbishing, NCS was contracted to handle the electrical and mechanical alterations, redecoration and tiling. Throughout the six-week contract the facility remained in use, minimising disruption to the schools curriculum.

The emphasis, wherever possible, on keeping amenities open during building work is key to NCS’s approach. NCS keeps disruption to a minimum by managing deliveries outside normal school hours, separating work areas from functioning school facilities and by close liaison with the school's staff.

Contract Example: Fire Service

At Hunstanton Fire Service, the existing welfare facilities provided solely for male fire crew. With the admission of female staff to front line fire duties, NCS were required undertake major internal structural alterations in order to accommodate changing personnel requirements.

Around the costal areas of Norfolk, the 10 metre high drill towers are subject to considerable attack for the elements, particularly the high salt content from sea winds. NCS Building Maintenance division undertakes the repair and recoating of these towers, which are a vital part of the Fire Service’s regular training facilities.
